Dorothy is a beautiful young hound, approximately 2 years old and 42 pounds, with a playful spirit who's still waiting for her forever family. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she learns to trust you, she's all about soaking up attention and mealtime is definitely her favorite part of the day! Dorothy needs to gain some weight, and we look forward to having her out of the boarding kennel where she's been staying and into a home where she can settle in.
This energetic girl would thrive with an active family and a large, securely fenced yard where she can safely run, explore, and let out her signature hound voice. She'd do best with school-aged children who can match her enthusiasm.
Dorothy is still learning the basics. Shell need help with potty training, leash manners, and positive reinforcement, but she's eager for someone willing to invest the time and patience she deserves. In return, you'll gain a loyal, fun-loving companion who just needed someone to believe in her.

About our rescue
We are a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in foster homes throughout the area or in some cases in the south waiting to be transported north. We do not have a physical shelter. However, meet and greets are set up for approved applicants.

Once the phone interview is completed, we will check your vet reference as well as a personal reference and conduct a home visit.
