Max is a 2-year-old, 30 lb Shar Pei who came to us after his owners could no longer care for him. This handsome boy is looking for a breed experienced family and a home to call his own!

Max is a sweet, affectionate companion who loves spending time with his people. Whether its heading out for a walk, relaxing at home, or simply hanging out by your side, hes happiest when hes included in his family's daily life. He walks well on leash and enjoys getting out to explore, making him a great companion for daily strolls and adventures.

This smart boy is very treat-motivated and eager to learn, making continued training both rewarding and fun. He enjoys working with his people and will thrive with adopters who are committed to providing structure, guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement.

Max has done well with other dogs but prefers slow, thoughtful introductions. He can be selective about his canine friends, so proper introductions and respectful interactions are important. He could do well with a compatible dog or would be equally happy as the center of attention in an only-dog home.
