Meet makenzie
Makenzie is a big, sweet, affectionate dog who loves being with his people. He enjoys attention, a good game of tug-of-war, chasing squeaky toys, short walks, and going on adventures. If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be part of your daily life, Makenzie is ready to be your best friend.
When we rescued Makenzie from animal control in October 2025, he had suffered severe injuries after being struck by a car. His left legs were broken and infected, and he also tested positive for heartworms. Thanks to lots of care, patience, and treatment, he has made an incredible recovery. Today, Makenzie is healthy, walks normally, and is ready for the loving home he deserves.
Because of his size and enthusiasm, Makenzie would do best in a home without young children. He isn't aggressive—he's simply a strong, energetic dog who may accidentally knock over a small child while playing or greeting them.
