Meet chervil

Meet Chervil! This friendly, cuddly boy has an enthusiastic, puppy-like zest for life that`s impossible not to love. Full of happy wiggles, goofy charm, and endless affection, Chervil has quickly proven that he`s a completely different dog in a home environment than he appeared to be in the shelter. His foster describes him as an absolute sweetheart who simply wants to be close to his people—and if he could somehow become a lap dog despite his size, he absolutely would.Since settling into foster care, Chervil has shown what an easy and enjoyable companion he is. He`s largely housetrained with only a couple of minor accidents while adjusting to a new routine and has done wonderfully when left home alone. He can be trusted uncrated, settles quietly, and doesn`t spend his time barking or getting into trouble. In fact, his foster says he`s incredibly low-maintenance around the house and happiest when he can relax near his favorite humans. One of Chervil`s best qualities is how much he loves people. Men, women, friends, strangers—it doesn`t matter. Everyone is a potential new best friend. His foster reports that he immediately won over every new person he met, happily climbing into laps and melting into pets. He`s incredibly affectionate and has a hilarious habit of dramatically `plopping` onto people for cuddles, as if one side of his body simply gives out from pure relaxation. If given the opportunity, Chervil would gladly spend his day snuggled as close to you as possible. On walks, Chervil is a dream companion. He walks very nicely on leash, frequently checks in with his handler, and responds well to gentle guidance and treats. While an especially interesting smell may occasionally earn a little extra enthusiasm, he`s easily redirected and continues on his way. He`s currently learning to sit and wait at crosswalks and is eager to learn thanks to his love of treats and praise. Chervil is also wonderfully social on walks, showing interest in meeting people but remaining easy to refocus when it`s time to keep moving.Chervil has met other dogs at BARCS and prefers gentle, respectful dog friends. While he has not yet been fully integrated with his foster`s resident dog, he`s displayed calm, neutral body language during introductions and has enjoyed polite sniffing during parallel walks. He remains non-reactive around other dogs on outings and appears to appreciate respectful canine company. As always, he`d like to meet any future do
