Fennel is a gentle, sensitive girl looking for a patient adopter who will give her the time and space to feel safe. She may be a little shy at first, but it`s easy to see that she wants to connect. She`ll cautiously approach her person before retreating again, showing that she`s trying her best to be brave.Once leashed, Fennel is an easy companion, enjoying slow, relaxed walks by your side. She isn`t bothered by passing dogs and handles her outings with quiet grace. While unexpected touch can still startle her, a calm, gentle approach helps her relax, and she`ll lean into affection once she knows she`s safe. She`s not quite comfortable enough to take treats outside yet, but with patience and consistency, her confidence is sure to grow.Fennel recently enjoyed a Dog`s Day Out adventure and has since been spending time in a short-term foster home, where she`s continued to prove what a wonderful houseguest she is! She loves relaxing indoors, happily lounging around the house and taking plenty of naps. Fennel has settled into home life beautifully and does well when left alone for short periods, calmly relaxing until her people return.Fennel is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. If you let her, she`ll happily cover you in kisses! She also enjoys curling up nearby, soaking up pets, and even a good massage—one of her favorite things. She greeted her foster`s daughter with an enthusiastic wagging tail, showing just how much she enjoys being around the people she loves. She`s an excellent sleeper and is happiest snoozing near her people or cuddling up whenever she gets the chance.She`s very food motivated, which makes bonding with her easy, although she`s more interested in treats indoors than outside. She can get a little eager when treats are involved, but she`s always gentle. Fennel also handled a bath like a champ, standing patiently through the whole thing in exchange for a well-earned treat, and she`s an excellent passenger in the car, riding calmly and quietly.Fennel walks beautifully on leash, doing a great job following her person`s direction and preferring to stroll alongside—or even slightly behind—them rather than pulling ahead. As she`s continued to recover and feel better, she`s become much more interested in stopping to sniff and explore her surroundings. She calmly ignores the people she passes, although squirrels are simply too tempting not to bark at! She`s also been doing well with
