Meet Pookie!

Pookie is an absolutely adorable 5-year-old neutered gentleman looking for his forever home. While he may be a little quiet when first meeting new people, he is friendly and warms up quickly once he feels comfortable.

Although Pookie has been diagnosed with a heart murmur, it doesn't slow him down. He enjoys playing with his foster siblings, running around the house and yard, and keeping an eye on everyone. In fact, once he gets to know other dogs, he often takes it upon himself to gently "herd" them where he thinks they should be! Pookie isn't intimidated by larger dogs either—he currently shares his foster home with a Pit Bull and happily tries to boss him around.

Pookie has learned to use a doggy door and is doing very well, though he occasionally needs a reminder to use it every time. He can navigate stairs and, if placed on furniture, can jump down without assistance.

This sweet boy loves snuggling with both his humans and his canine companions. At night and during nap time, he often curls up with one of his foster brothers and is happy to share his space. While he occasionally enjoys playing with toys, his true motivation is food. Pookie firmly believes that if the humans are eating, he should be eating too!

Pookie recently had a dental cleaning and had several side teeth removed. He has healed beautifully and is back to enjoying his normal diet.
