Meet Girl!
Leigh is a sweet, gentle soul who is quietly discovering just how wonderful life can be. While new environments can make her a little shy at first, she's already proving to be a quick learner. With a little patience, encouragement, and a handful of treats, her confidence grows a little more every day.
Once Leigh feels comfortable, her affectionate side shines through. She loves spending time with her people and enjoys soaking up attention from those she trusts.
Leigh gets along well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to help show her the ropes. She has not yet been tested with cats. She's currently working on house training, crate training, and leash walking, and because she's food motivated, she's eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement.
Leigh is also undergoing treatment for heartworms. The good news is that Freedom Ride Rescue will continue to cover the cost of her treatment, even after adoption, so her future family can focus on helping her settle into her new home.
Leigh is looking for a family that understands confidence takes time to build. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, she'll reward you with unwavering loyalty and a heart full of affection.
