Meet toto
Someone we knew asked us to care for Toto (8 years old) temporarily, but recently abandoned him and told us to take him to a shelter.
When we met Toto, he had never been outside and was only trained to use pee pads inside the house. He was also extremely attached to his previous owner, so it took him a few days to fully get comfortable enough without her.
We have had him for a while now, and he is super sweet once he opens up! He is great with dogs and cats, but we are unsure about small children.
A few things to mention:
He is still not potty trained. We have gotten him to use the bathroom outside occasionally, but he still mainly goes indoors.
He is also a very anxious dog (has separation anxiety) as he grew up only knowing one person. He will also become very attached to all people and animals in the household, so it is preferable that he go to someone who is home frequently and can be with him as well as someone who has animals that are patient with dogs who won’t leave them alone.
