Atlas has spent most of his life outside. No walls, no warmth, no one to come home to. For years, the world was something he had to survive — not enjoy.

That changes now.

He's still adjusting to what it feels like to be safe. Still learning that hands reach out to pet, not to harm. Still figuring out that a quiet room and a soft bed are things he gets to keep. He's shy when he first meets you — but he accepts gentle pets, and every single day he comes a little further out of his shell. That progress? It means everything.

Atlas is independent and unhurried. He doesn't need constant attention or a packed social calendar. He needs patience, consistency, and someone who understands that trust is something you earn slowly — and that it's worth every moment of the wait.

He gets along well with adults, other dogs, and cats. He hasn't been introduced to young children yet, so a home without little ones would set him up for the most success. He is not yet neutered but is scheduled for the procedure prior to adoption.

After years of surviving, Atlas deserves the chance to simply live. If you're the kind of person who finds meaning in going slow — in sitting quietly with a dog who's still deciding whether the world is safe — Atlas might just be exactly who you've been looking for.
