Meet moose

Moose is currently in a foster home - if you are interested in meeting him please call the shelter so we can coordinate with his foster family (:There’s something incredibly special about Moose. He isn’t the loudest dog in the room or the one demanding all the attention. Instead, he quietly wins people over with his gentle nature, easygoing personality, and the kind of companionship that just makes life better. Over the past 73 days, Moose has become one of our shelter favorites. Whether he’s heading out on a Miles & Mutts adventure, attending an off-site event, or simply greeting visitors at the shelter, he carries himself with the same calm, respectful demeanor that makes him so easy to love. New people don’t seem to faze him—he’s happy to say hello, soak up a few scratches, and make another fan wherever he goes. Moose has proven to be an excellent adventure buddy. He loves exploring Alaska’s trails and is always excited for his next outing, but he doesn’t need constant activity to be happy. After a hike or a game of fetch, he’s more than content to relax by your side and enjoy a quiet afternoon together. He truly offers the best of both worlds. His good manners are just another reason we adore him. Moose appears to be potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows sit, down, come, and shake. Like any dog, he’ll need a little time to adjust to a new home and routine, but he’s given us every reason to believe he’ll settle in beautifully. When it comes to other dogs, Moose continues to impress us. He’s met quite a few canine friends during his stay and has handled each introduction with the same cool-as-a-cucumber attitude. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he’s more interested in peacefully sharing space than roughhousing. If you have a dog at home, we’d be happy to arrange a meet-and-greet. The only thing Moose is missing is a family to call his own. Although he greets each day with happy steps and a wagging tail, we’d love nothing more than to see him trade his kennel for a couch and his shelter routine for a lifetime of adventures. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with wonderful manners, a gentle heart, and a personality that seems to put everyone at ease, Moose may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.
