Introducing Scooby Doo!

Affectionate Playful Velcro-Dane Quick Learner

Personality: Scooby Doo loves being close to his people and enjoys following them from room to room just to stay involved in whatever is happening. He is playful, curious, and still learning about the world around him.

Socialness: Scooby Doo enjoys people and has done well with adults and children. Due to his age and size, older or dog-savvy children would be best, as he is still learning manners and can be clumsy when excited.

He is playful and social with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion in his forever home. He tends to follow the lead of other dogs and enjoys having playmates around. He had experience with cats in his previous home, but has not met any with his foster. Slow and structured introductions to cats would be best.

Playing with toys
Being close to his people
Being with other dogs
Treats and positive attention


Dislikes:


Having paws touched/nails trimmed
Taking a bath
Unexpected loud noises


Training: He is still learning basic manners and puppy routines. He is working on leash skills, consistency with commands, and understanding what items are appropriate to chew on. He currently has a fondness for shoes! He is eager to learn and responds best to positive reinforcement and encouragement. With patience and continued structure, he is expected to grow into a wonderful companion.

Health: Scooby Doo is in good health but does have a sensitive stomach and is currently on a prescription dog food but may be able to transition off it over time. He will have a neuter clause in his adoption contract with a $150 neuter deposit required at the time of the adoption.

Forever Home Wishlist:


A family committed to continued training and socialization
A home with time for an active young Dane
Older or dog-savvy children are recommended if children are in the home
Another playful dog would be a bonus
A physical fence is recommended but not required
An apartment could be ok but should have a yard
Loves to be with his people be can be left alone for 6 to 8 hours if needed.


Fun Fact: Scooby Doo has a talent for making people laugh—between his oversized puppy antics and goofy expressions, there is never a dull moment when he is around.
