Meet montie
Montie is a 10-year-old chocolate Lab mix, 65 lbs, with a story that will break your heart. He lost his owner when she passed away at home, survived an apartment fire, lived homeless on the streets of El Centro and San Diego, and came to us in September 2025 when his person was hospitalized. We were always meant to be temporary.
Montie is wonderful with female dogs of all sizes and would thrive with a female companion or as the only dog in the home. He should only live with female dogs or be the sole dog in the household. Male dogs are not a good match for him regardless of the environment.
He has never shown aggression toward people, is fully house trained, and still has great energy for his age. He needs some dental work, which we are happy to contribute toward for the right home.
Montie has survived more than most. He just needs someone to finally give him a place to land.
