Abbie is a 6-month-old Pit Mix puppy with a heart full of love and a lot of potential. While she can be shy and unsure when meeting new people, once she gets to know you, her incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loving personality begins to shine.Because Abbie has had very limited socialization, she is looking for a patient and understanding adopter who is committed to helping her build confidence and learn about the world around her. She will thrive with someone who has previous dog experience and is willing to take things at her pace while providing positive reinforcement and consistency.Abbie is partially housebroken but will need continued guidance and a regular routine as she settles into her new home. She does not have a history with dogs outside of her sister, Gertie, so any resident dogs will require a meet-and-greet to ensure a good match. Likewise, because she has no known history with cats, we recommend very slow and carefully managed introductions.Due to her insecurities and need for a calm environment, we are recommending a home with children over the age of 12 who can respect her boundaries and help her feel safe.Abbie may need a little extra time and patience, but for the right person, the reward will be a loyal, loving companion who blossoms more every day.
