🐾💙 MEET TITAN — A SMART BOY LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT HOME TO HELP HIM THRIVE 💙🐾

Sometimes an adoption doesn’t end the way everyone hoped.

Titan, now known as Louis, is coming back to Happy Paws Haven. His family loves him tremendously and has worked with a private trainer, but after giving it their best effort, everyone involved agrees that their current home simply isn’t the environment Titan needs to be successful.

So we’re looking for someone who can give this incredibly smart boy the structure, consistency and continued training he needs. ❤️

Titan is extremely intelligent, food motivated and eager to learn. He has so much potential in the right hands, but he isn’t going to be the right fit for every household—and that’s okay. Our job is to find the home that IS right for him.

Titan is a high-energy dog who can become overstimulated easily. He needs an experienced, confident adopter willing to continue working on impulse control, boundaries and appropriate outlets for his energy.

🏡 TITAN’S IDEAL HOME:

🐾 No cats. Titan has shown inappropriate mouthy behavior toward cats and can injure them even though his behavior does not appear intentionally aggressive.

🐾 We would prefer no small dogs. He can become far too rough and overwhelming during interactions and has grabbed a small dog by the neck.

🐾 A calmer home with fewer animals and distractions would likely give him the best opportunity to decompress and focus.

🐾 Someone experienced with resource guarding. Titan has guarded high-value chews, so his new family will need to understand management and continue working with a qualified trainer.

🐾 Someone prepared to work through significant separation anxiety. Titan can become extremely distressed when left alone and may vocalize for extended periods.

🐾 A home willing to continue addressing barrier reactivity. He can react strongly to people or activity on the other side of a fence/barrier.

🐾 Most importantly, Titan needs structure, routine, patience and continued professional training.

We know that sounds like a lot.

But we also know there are people out there who understand dogs like Titan.

Dogs who aren’t “bad.”

Dogs who are smart, intense and struggling to regulate themselves in an environment that isn’t working for them.

His current family didn’t make this decision lightly. They sought training, tried management and ultimately recognized that loving Titan also means admitting when another environment may give him a better chance.

Titan deserves that chance. 💙

We’re looking for the person who sees his potential and is willing to put in the work alongside him.
