Meet Ellie ❤️🐾

Ellie is one of our beloved Florence 10 dogs — a group of neglected dogs we took into rescue last September — and she is now ready to find the calm, loving home she deserves.

Ellie is a senior girl, estimated to be around 11–12 years old, and she is as sweet and loving as they come. She absolutely loves to cuddle and has a very calm, gentle personality. One of her cutest little quirks is that when she gets belly rubs, she lays on her back and does the most adorable little “swimming” paddle motions with her paws. 🥹❤️

Ellie does need another dog in the home. Being around other dogs helps her feel safe and secure. She becomes anxious if left alone in a closed room, so crates are not a good fit for her — but thankfully, she doesn’t need one. She is not destructive at all and does very well when given companionship and comfort.

She would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not.

Ellie gets along well with cats and other dogs. She is still working on potty training and leash training, but she is making progress.

Ellie has no teeth, so she eats soft food only. Since coming into rescue, she has been fully vetted, spayed, had all of her teeth removed, and underwent fistula repairs with a dental specialist.

Despite the neglect she suffered before rescue, Ellie remains incredibly trusting, affectionate, and full of love. She is truly a special little dog looking for a soft place to land for her golden years. ❤️

Ellie can also be adopted with her housemate Scarlett, who is also one of the Florence 10. They do fine together & fine separated (as long as they have another dog in the home)

Ellie’s fee is $150. If you are adopting Ellie & Scarlett together it is $250
