Meet Luca Doncic (ACCT-A-251320)! When he first arrived at the shelter, Luca showed everyone just what a "very good boy" he is. Whether he's out for a stroll or hanging out in his kennel, he's known for his soft eyes and a happy, wagging tail. Luca walks nicely on a loose leash and is always happy to greet a friendly face.

Luca is a big fan of affection and will lean right into you for pets. While he enjoys his snacks, he can be a little enthusiastic when taking treats, so an open palm works best for him. He has shown a polite interest in other dogs and generally maintains a calm, curious demeanor. ⭐Behavioral Notes⭐
Walksheet notes: Luca Doncic was walked twice on 6/4 and again on 6/6, 6/7. All walks Luca Doncic had no general issues. All walks Luca Doncic had low energy. On 6/6 and twice on 6/7 Luca Doncic had good dog meets. On 6/4 Luca Doncic noted “very embarrassed by potty accident in kennel. Super sweet”. On 6/6 handler noted “peed and pooped as soon as we got out, so gentle and sweet, loved treats. A chill boy!” On 6/7 Luca Doncic noted “peed a lot” and “peed & pooped - knows sit and gives paw very good boy went into kennel easy”

06/02/2026:
Playgroup. Loose at the fence, shook off. Steerable 3-4/5 water and 2 can. Slow entry, interested in sniffing Harriet. Mingling around. Gunner body slammed into him, panicking when leaving the yard and Luca vocalized, hackles raised, ears back. Both dogs were secured and Luca recovered quickly returning to loose body, low to mid tail wags,

06/02/2026:
Kennel Presentation: On the backside of his kennel for cleaning. At the front, ears to the side, loose mid tail wags, loose body, soft eyes. Took a treat through the bars.
Leash Skills: Easy to leash and came right out. Walked on a loose leash, loose body, mid tail, ears to the side. Went to the bathroom as soon as he got outside.
Sociability: Sniffed around in the yard, nose to the ground, tail low and loose, ears to the side. Came over when called, ears back, loose body, mid tail wags, soft eyes. Allowed all handling and leaned into pet with loose body, mid tail wags, ears back. Would move away after petting stopped. Takes treats a little snatchy so open palm is best.
Dog Interaction: Saw another dog while out, pulled mildly, mid tail wags, loose body, whining. Easy to move away with light leash pressure.
Return to Kennel: Walked back with the same body language as walking out. Hopped right in and leash was removed easily by hand.
Color Level: Gold

05/27/2026:
Luca is a very good boy. He stayed close even when his collar was briefly released and waited patiently outside the car when tethered to the car door and later when put in the back seat with the windows down. He just watched everyone walk by (including dogs) and was quiet, just looking at his surroundings.

05/27/2026 per finder: Neutral with strangers. Loves children. Grew up with another cat. Friendly, cuddly, playful.
