🐾 Meet Sable. 🐾
Some dogs fall in love with people first. Sable fell in love with dogs. ❤️
When Sable came to SNARL, she was heavily pregnant, completely shut down, and terrified of the world. She raised her puppies, watched them all find homes, and now it’s finally her turn.
Dogs are Sable’s safe place. She absolutely adores them, and a confident, friendly canine companion is a must for her forever home. When another dog trusts you, Sable starts to believe you might be safe too. Her trust takes time, patience, and consistency — but she is making incredible progress.
At a recent adoption event, she amazed us. This normally shy girl calmly walked on leash, stayed close to her handler, surrounded herself with other dogs, and chose to stay near people instead of hiding. She may not ask for cuddles, but simply choosing to be close is a huge victory. 🥹
Sable needs a foster home while she continues her journey, and ultimately a forever home with a confident, friendly dog, a secure backyard with tall walls, and patient humans who understand that she may never be a cuddly lap dog — and that’s okay.
Crates can still be scary, and she may experience some separation anxiety as she adjusts. She isn’t being difficult; she’s learning what safety feels like.
Sable doesn’t need to be the center of attention. Give her a safe yard, some treats, a confident doggy sibling, and people who celebrate the little victories, and you’ll get to watch something truly special unfold. 🐾💕
