BOGEY BOGART~NEEDS A FOREVER HOME
A Presa Canario, came into the Hopes Haven rescue foster on March 17 via Multnomah Dog Shelter. He weighed 81 pounds and was very malnourished and neglected. He came in as a stray found in someone's yard. He was not neutered, but he is now 👍
He is approximately four years old and after an abundant farm egg 🥚 & kibble diet over the last two months is now at 130 healthy pounds. Despite his former neglect he LOVES people!
He is adorable with strangers when you take him out for a walk in public places (stores, in town, and parks). He attracts a ton of attention and seems to revel in it. I'm careful with him because he is a giant dog and we are still fairly new to each other but so far he has not disappointed in the public eye. 🤩He loves other dogs! Although he has the size of an alpha, he does not try to command my other dogs and is submissive (we have 4 dogs weighing 66-130 pounds) . I have a farm with a lot of ducks chickens, geese, peacocks and he has been bird safe. He has also been safe with my Goats, but I don't leave him unattended with any of the farm animals, although he does walk around them off leash. Our cats on the other hand, he has an unhealthy fixation on, and I would not recommend him to a home with cats. He has had limited exposure to children while in my care - because I don't have any young children, but the ones in public he has been nice to. That said, he is a huge dog and very strong so as with any giant breed, you'd want to be cautious and have him supervised around children. He's getting better daily on leash. He does sleep outside on our deck in his Igloo house, he likes to watch over the farm. He loves watching TV with the family at night and supervising me during my farm chores and especially cooking duties.
He loves car/truck rides & is an eager companion and settles quickly. He is a head out the window kind of guy. Once he knows the house regimen and what's expected of him he acclimates well.
This beautiful boy is ready to meet his forever family and I'll miss his cute McMugShot. If I didn’t already have 4 big dogs & cats 🐈⬛ this guy would be staying here. I'm happy to answer any questions & thanks for your consideration!
