Meet special needs yorkie
# 7211 This little guy was lost in Willoughby Hills May 16, 2026, so he’s here at the Lake County Dog Shelter. He loves cuddles, is energetic, wants attention and is curious. He went to the vet on Friday May 22,2026, and here is what we found out: He is an intact male Yorkshire Terrier that is approximately 5 years young. He has mild dental disease. Unfortunately, his left eye has microphthalmia, which is a congenital condition where the left eye does not develop fully and remains abnormally small and sometimes disorganized. He was probably born this way. To put it in simple terms, he will need to have surgery to remove the eye. The cost to have this surgery done is estimated at $1,000. He will need to be neutered (we do have PetFix vouchers for an additional discounted price). So, if you are interested in adopting this little yorkie and can afford the medical attention and love he needs, please give us a call to meet him. Also, if there are any Yorkshire Terrier Rescues out there that would be interested in helping him out, call us!
