Bluey’s story isn’t an easy one—but his future is full of hope.

For far too long, Bluey lived alone in a shed, shut away from the world through scorching summers and freezing winters. One of our dedicated team members pleaded for an entire year to give him a better life. The day his owner finally said yes, there were tears—because Bluey was finally free.

And Bluey has blossomed.

In his foster home, he’s discovering what it truly means to be a dog. He loves being part of a family and is doing wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids. He’s gentle, loving, and so grateful for every bit of kindness he receives. Watching him enjoy comfort, companionship, and affection has been incredibly moving.

Because of all he’s been through, we’d love to find Bluey a local Alabama home so he doesn’t have to travel far again. He’s available for a meet & greet, and we just know you’ll fall in love once you meet him.

Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts local and in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you.

The pets are delivered by a licensed transporter.

Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have.

NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. They will be transported north after adoption.

If there is more than one decision maker in the home, all of them should be in agreement.
