Sweet Love Bug Alert❤️ Penelope is an absolute love bug who wants nothing more than to be near her human. Whether she is cuddling on the couch, laying at your feet while you work, or following you from room to room, she is a sweet companion who loves to give kisses. She is house-trained and goes potty outside once or twice a day. Outdoor environment still intimidates her—during her first few days, she wouldn't walk outside at all. She now starts her trips in a dog stroller and practices leash walking once she reaches a quiet cul-de-sac or local park. She can zigzag when nervous and prefers to be carried or hop back into her stroller after doing her business, but she is completely non-reactive to other dogs on the street. Penelope coexists wonderfully with other pups. She comfortably shared a crate and playpen with her shelter companion on her first night, and she now peacefully shares the couch with my two resident dogs. While she does not play with them yet, she is incredibly respectful and calm. Penelope also absolutely loves her crate and playpen, willingly going inside both on her own for naps. She settles instantly, sleeps through the night, and stays quietly relaxed while I am at work. She is making wonderful progress and just needs a patient adopter to help her continue to blossom.

Penelope's ideal home: Penelope will thrive in a calm, not too busy household. She needs a gentle hand and a patient adopter who understands she requires a long decompression period to adjust to the city and new environment. If there are children in the home, they must be old enough to respect her needs and give her the space she needs to come out of her shell.
