Meet dooku
From his previous foster: This adoraboy is a joy. I imagine his brain going “doobie doobie doo” most of the time, hence nick names like Doobie and Bubba. He has learned to use the stairs, he is lovable, squishy, just can’t get enough licks in. He does have a disability but once you develop a routine with his diapers you are golden.

Dooku has a condition called spina bifida, which means that his spinal cord and vertebrae did not develop properly, causing nerve damage. Most symptoms usually involve a dog's hind end, which is what we have seen thus far with Dooku. He is fecally incontinent. Though he is able to push stool out on his own, he does not always have control over when this happens. His hind legs are a bit weak and sometimes he needs help, especially going up and down stairs. His previous caretaker found great success with regular diaper changes.
As he matures and grows, the condition may stagnate, or worsen - there's not a great way of predicting. It is unlikely that he will get better control of his bowels, and he may need a wheelchair in future. Our medical team is happy to talk through any questions you might have.
