Meet iris
Iris is a beautiful and possibly rare 2-3-year-old Carolina Dog mix with soulful eyes and an incredible story of resilience. At just 33 lb, Iris is compact enough to curl up beside you, but athletic enough for walks, hikes, and adventures.I pulled Iris from an overcrowded L.A. County shelter after she was placed on an urgent euthanasia deadline. Before that, she was abandoned in her own filth in a crate during a wildfire evacuation and later surrendered again, leaving her fearful and emotionally overwhelmed.Since entering foster care, Iris has blossomed into a loyal, loving companion who is house-trained, quiet in the home, smart, obedient, and eager to learn. She loves toys, walks, backyard zoomies, yummy food, and lounging near her humans.Iris would do best in a calm adult home without young children and possibly with a calm dog companion.
