Barley is an 11-year-old Shih Tzu from Tucson, Arizona. He has travelled across the country and has been the little brother for his now-passed Shih Tzu brother named Riley from a different origin family.
Barley may be getting up there in age, but he still has plenty of personality. Despite significant vision challenges — his right eye barely functions and his left eye mainly detects shapes — Barley gets around remarkably well. He confidently navigates the house and steers clear of most obstacles, showing just how adaptable and resilient he is. He remains fully continent, potty trained, and enjoys the simple comforts of home life.
Unfortunately, Barley’s current family is struggling to give him the attention he deserves. With a new baby and small children in the house, he often ends up spending too much time alone. They love him dearly and want what’s best for him: a peaceful environment where someone has the time to keep him company, offer gentle pets, and enjoy quiet moments.
