Crate Trained: Working on it. Astro makes a lot of noise when he initially goes in the crate, but eventually settles down. He loves having a kong with frozen PB while in his crate. We have not yet started nighttime crate training.

Housebroken: Not yet. He knows what he is supposed to do outside but has not yet learned how to alert his humans.

Reaction to New People: Friendly but timid. Warms up quickly.

Training: Astro has learned "sit". Working on "come" and "stay" and learning how to walk with a harness and leash.

Grooming Needs: I am not sure what his coat will look like in adulthood, but one should be prepared to brush daily with a lot of shedding.

Fence: Yes, a fence with a minimum height of 5' will definitely be needed.

Solo or Siblings: Astro would do best in a home with high energy siblings

From the Foster: Astro is a playful and loving pup with a heart as big as his energy levels. He spends his days wrestling and running with his foster siblings and learning what it means to be a "good boy." He currently excels at "sit" and has a solid recall—though, in true Husky fashion, he may "filter" your calls if a squirrel or a leaf looks more interesting.
Astro is looking for a patient home that understands the breed. He’s a smart boy who knows that "outside" is for potty time, though he’s still working on his communication skills when he needs to go. While he is crate training, he currently prefers the comfort of a human bed at night. Astro thrives with other dogs. He loves rough-and-tumble play and would do best in a home with canine siblings who can keep up and teach him the ropes. Finally, Astro has shown a propensity for digging so please be prepared to provide a safe and appropriate digging area for him (i.e., sandbox, etc).

Astro is the sweetest pup! He loves to cuddle at your feet or in your lap in between his "zoomies" and playtime!

Adoption Fee: $450

All dogs coming into Adopt a Husky Minnesota receive care tailored to their needs, including: Nose-to-tail exam with a partner veterinarian, Vaccinations (Rabies, Distemper, Leptospirosis,
Bordetella), 4DX test to check for heartworm or tick exposure, Fecal Analysis, Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative, Spay/Neuter prior to adoption, Microchip, and are evaluated for temperament and trainability.
