COURTESY POST! Say hello to KANE, a majestic 3 year old pedigree German Shepherd! He's a medium sized GSD and weighs 65 lbs although his pics seem to make him look bigger. He has a stunningly beautiful tan and black coat with eyes that show how smart he is and amazing ears that need their own zip code!

Kane's Dad was a former explosive k9 handler/trainer and Kane received excellent training and guidance. Unfortunately, his Dad recently changed jobs and now Kane is left alone for long periods of time and spends much too much time in his crate. As a result of that, Long Road Home is helping the family find another loving home so Kane can enjoy the life he deserves with the freedom to play during the day and take long snoozes in the backyard. He knows all his basic commands and loves playing with other dogs. He has the medium level of energy that you'd expect for a 3 year old GSD but listens and is obedient. He loves playing with other dogs and he's great with everyone he meets and loves his 14 year old human sister. He's not the biggest fan of his 2 year old toddler sibling because of the pulling and playing but he has NEVER been aggressive. He just avoids the baby but sometimes that's hard to do when the toddler wants to play with him. :)

We think Kane would thrive with a loving family who are familiar with Shepherds and understand they flourish with leadership, guidance and a nurturing home. GSDs are loving and loyal family members and their primary goal is to please their owners. They are super smart so give them a job....and they will get it done!! A family with kiddos who are a bit older would be great because toddlers and babies are too unpredictable and he doesn't love having his mane and tail pulled (neither do we! :) He'd absolutely love a fully fenced yard and a doggie sibling but would be fine as a solo pup if he has engaged and active owners.
He's healthy, up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered, totally housebroken and crate trained. All he needs is for his new family to find him!
