If happiness had a face, it would be Melusine's.

At 3 years old and 37 pounds, this handsome island mix has a smile so big it deserves its own zip code. With his oversized ears, fluffy curled tail, and joyful personality, Melusine has a special talent for making people fall in love within seconds. 

But his looks are only part of the package.

Melusine is the kind of dog who wakes up every morning convinced it's going to be the best day ever. He greets new people with enthusiastic tail wags and happy little bounces, convinced that everyone he meets is a future best friend. Mention a walk and he'll practically dance with excitement. Curious, confident, and always ready to explore, Melusine loves discovering new places and seeing what the world has to offer. 

One of Melusine's greatest gifts is his ability to make himself at home just about anywhere. He's equally happy exploring a busy town center, strolling through a quiet neighborhood, or relaxing at home with his family. Whether your household is full of kids, visitors, and activity or you prefer a slower pace, Melusine takes it all in stride. 

And then there's his story.

In August 2025, Melusine was rescued by Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand after surviving a devastating road accident. His injuries were severe, and his road to recovery was long. But if Melusine learned anything from that experience, it's how to keep moving forward with joy. Today, fully recovered and thriving, he doesn't dwell on what happened. Instead, he focuses on what matters most: making friends, soaking up affection, and enjoying every moment life has to offer.

His resilience is remarkable. His spirit is infectious. His heart is pure gold.

Melusine has already overcome more than most dogs ever will. Now he's simply looking for what every great dog deserves: a family to love, adventures to share, and a forever home where his famous smile can brighten every day.

All of our dogs come with a 7-week group Beginner course at Bark n' Roll in North Reading included with adoption. If you are not local to North Reading you may opt for an included virtual private session with a certified positive trainer with Bark n' Roll.

Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will contact you, review our adoption process, and answer any additional questions you may have.
