Meet Porter — Professional Fence Tester, Distinguished Gentleman, Occasional Houdini Porter is a 6-year-old neutered Rottweiler/Australian Shepherd mix who somehow combines “calm mature gentleman” energy with “what if I simply left the yard?” problem-solving skills.He can be a little shy about being leashed at first, but once you’re together, Porter is an easygoing companion who enjoys leisurely walks, sniffing absolutely everything. This handsome guy already knows sit, stay, come, and leave it, walks nicely on leash, and takes treats gently like the polite gentleman he is. Toys and tennis balls? Porter would like everyone to know he is 6 years old and above such nonsense.His previous owners reported that he is house trained, crate trained, loves car rides, and has had obedience training. They described him as smart, social, playful, and cuddly — basically a big softie with excellent manners and questionable opinions about fences.Porter is friendly with women and children, can be a little nervous around some men at first, and reportedly wants to play with other dogs and even cats. He’ll need a secure yard because this boy apparently minored in Advanced Escape Techniques, but otherwise he seems happiest just hanging out with his people. He may need supervised outdoor time only or a secure, very tall fence.If you’re looking for a mellow, affectionate dog with brains, manners, and just a tiny streak of “you can’t contain me,” Porter may be your guy.
