Meet Maxine

Maxine is a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois who came to us from an overcrowded shelter, and like many dogs of her breed, the shelter environment has been tough on her. Malinois are incredibly intelligent, active, and sensitive dogs who thrive with structure and purpose—something that’s hard to find in a kennel. Because of that, Maxine would truly benefit from finding her forever home as soon as possible.

Since arriving with us, Maxine has already shown just how adaptable and sweet she is. She’s settled in nicely and has calmed down significantly, allowing her loving personality to shine through. This girl is an absolute sweetheart who adores squeaky toys, lives for a good game of fetch, and will happily do just about anything for a tasty treat.

Maxine does well meeting new people, though she may bark a bit at first as she figures things out. Once she knows you’re a friend, she warms up and is eager to connect.

Maxine will only be adopted to applicants with approved applications, and homes must be appropriate for her breed and needs. Belgian Malinois require experienced, committed owners who understand their energy level, intelligence, and drive.
