Meet Basil: The Diamond in the Rough 🐾
If you have a soft spot for the underdog and a lap that needs filling, Basil is the boy for you. This sweet Chihuahua mix came to us as a partner transfer after life as a stray, and while his past might have been a bit rough, his heart is pure gold. He’s currently working through some cosmetic skin challenges and regrowing his signature coat, but don’t let his "scruffy" stage fool you—he is a perfect gentleman in the making.
Basil is a professional-grade cuddlebug. His primary mission in life is to find a warm lap and stay there for as long as humanly possible. All he truly wants is love, and he has a way of looking at you that makes you feel like the most important person in the world. When he’s happy, his entire body gets involved in a "wiggle butt" display that proves beauty is definitely more than skin deep.
Despite his tough start, Basil is remarkably well-adjusted. He is a dream on a leash and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, making him a great addition to a multi-pet household. He’s a quiet, gentle soul who seems to be house-trained and is just looking for a stable place to finish his glow-up.
Basil is currently on a journey to health. He is recovering from skin issues and is in the process of regrowing his hair, which means he needs a family that understands he’s a "work in progress" on the outside, even though he’s already 100% perfect on the inside.
