Meet diego
Diego is an adorable Golden Retriever mix puppy with a beautiful golden coat, big floppy ears, and a sweet, playful personality! At just 3 months old, he is currently 25 lbs and is expected to grow to around 60 lbs. While we know his mom is a full Golden Retriever, Diego’s dad is unknown, which makes him a fun and unique “mystery mix.”
Diego is what we like to call a true “Golden Retriever mix mystery.” His unique look—especially those long ears—has everyone guessing! Our best guesses are that he may have Cocker Spaniel or Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in him, and some have even suggested a bit of Basset Hound because of his ears. Interestingly, Diego looks completely different from his brother Diesel, who has a sleek black coat, making Diego extra special and one of a kind.
Diego and his brother Diesel were surrendered when their previous family realized they weren’t prepared for how large and active the boys would become, especially in a small apartment. Wanting the best for them, they made the difficult but responsible decision to bring them to our rescue so they can find homes better suited to their needs.
Both Diego and Diesel are extremely shy at first and will need a patient, understanding home as they adjust. They would greatly benefit from having another friendly dog in the home to help show them the ropes and build their confidence. After just a couple of days, they begin to warm up and show their sweet, affectionate personalities.
Diego is a gentle pup who enjoys exploring and being around his people once he feels comfortable. Like any young puppy, he is still learning the ropes and will need continued guidance with potty training and basic manners. He does well with other dogs, cats, and kids.
Diego is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He is not yet neutered but will be undergoing that procedure through the rescue. At this time, we are looking for a committed adopter or a foster-to-adopt home while Diego completes his remaining vetting.
Diego and his brother do not need to be adopted together and can go to separate homes.
