Kawaii is a classic Shiba Inu with an independent spirit, a naturally aloof nature and a charm all his own. In true Shiba fashion, Kawaii likes to take his time getting to know new people—he may seem reserved at first, but give him some time (and maybe some cheese or hot dogs!) and you’ll eventually see him soften, lean in for gentle pets, and even seek out your company. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the world at his own pace, though he prefers to keep his distance from other dogs and would do best as the only pet in the home. Kawaii can be sensitive to handling so he’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will respect his boundaries and build trust gradually. Because of his independent nature and sensitivity, a home with people who can move calmly and give him space would be the best fit. With a little time and a lot of understanding, Kawaii is a rewarding companion who will quietly choose you as his person.
