****Please do not submit an Adopt-a-pet inquiry but rather email us directly at--neigrescue@gmail.com-- if you are interested in adopting or have any questions about Fannie.***** Fannie is a beautiful 7 year old girl who came from a very unfortunate neglect situation with multiple dogs and little human interaction leaving her a little shy and skittish. She is learning what it means to be a beloved family member.. It took her a couple weeks to learn her new surroundings and routine in her foster home. She especially loves sitting on the couch and getting pets, first thing in the morning. She can be a bit pushy about getting attention at times and will crawl right in your lap and nudge your hands asking for pets. She enjoys the company of other dogs and will do best with another confident canine companion to help guide her and give her comfort. She is fostering with cats and does well with them, ignoring them. She is kennel trained and knows how to walk on a leash. She can get frightened while on walks but she does recover fairly quickly. While Fannie is leash trained, she does not like to potty on leash while people can see her. Due to this she absolutely needs a fenced yard so she can potty off leash in privacy. She knows go potty means to go to the backyard door to be let out. She requires a tall, privacy type fence to prevent her from jumping over or climbing if she gets frightened. She does get scared when there is something new while she is outdoors, like the wind blowing, or a tree branch down. She has some skittish behavior that decreases as she adjusts to her environment and gets comfortable. Loud voices and yelling are 2 things that make her very nervous. Sometimes when things scare her she runs around in a little bit of panic. She typically finds a place where she feels safe and calms down very quickly. She needs an understanding, quiet, calm, patient home to help her overcome any fears she may have. She prefers to sleep in the safety of her kennel at night and will run to her kennel when she gets scared. Fannie has a great appetite and jumps in excitement at mealtime. She is spayed, had a dental cleaning with extractions, is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested and on preventative. Fannie is fostering in Lincoln NE. NOTE: We will only receive your application if you are an Iowa, Nebraska or South Dakota resident. All other applications will automatically go to your state representative. Please EMAIL US TO LET US KNOW YOU SUBMITTED APP SO WE CAN BE SURE IT IS RECEIVED as sometimes we don't receive them.. Adopters will need to visit dog in the foster home and transport home. We do NOT transport dogs for adoption. All members of the household will need to be present at meet and greet including dogs in the home.
