Meet little fred the tiny but mighty cutie

Okay but be honest… have you ever seen ears like THIS?? Because Little Fred is out here casually walking around with oversized, Frenchie-style ears on a tiny little body like it’s no big deal and it is a very big deal. He is ridiculously cute in that “how is this even real” kind of way. But it’s not just the looks (even though… wow). Little Fred has this soft, sweet, quietly charming personality that pulls you in without even trying. He may play it cool at first, but once he warms up, you get the cuddly, nuzzle-your-neck, little shadow version of him and that’s when you realize… yeah, this one’s special.

Little Fred is a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs about 15 lbs, and while we can’t guarantee breed with rescue pups, we’re pretty convinced those oversized, Frenchie-style ears of his are doing most of the talking anyway. Seriously… they deserve their own fan club. They’re big, they’re expressive, and paired with his tiny little body, they make him almost unfairly cute.

Fred is the definition of a gentle soul. He’s sweet, quiet, and a little shy at first, so he’s not the type to burst into the room demanding attention. He’s more of a soft hello, slow approach, “let me figure you out first” kind of guy. But give him a little time, and you’ll start to see his heart open in the most special ways. And once you’re his person? That’s it. You’re in. One of his favorite things is being picked up and gently nuzzling his head over your shoulder like a little hug… and honestly, it’s enough to melt you on the spot.
He’s also one of the most tolerant little guys you’ll ever meet. Dress-up photoshoot? No problem. Being handled? Totally fine. He just goes with it in the sweetest, most trusting way. There’s something really special about how patient and easy he is, even when he’s still figuring things out.

Fred is crate trained and potty trained, which makes him an easy addition to a home. He’s not destructive, not chaotic, and overall just has a very calm, manageable presence. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention 24/7, he’s perfectly content doing his own thing and quietly being part of your world.

With other dogs, Fred does best when introductions are slow and respectful. He’s not a fan of dogs rushing into his space (honestly, same), but once he feels comfortable, he can relax and even enjoy some light play, especially with dogs closer to his size. He’s done well around bigger dogs too, as long as they give him time to settle in and don’t overwhelm him. His ideal match would be a calm, easygoing female dog who isn’t looking for a constant playmate, but is happy to coexist and maybe wrestle a little once they’re friends.

Fred also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for him to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know!

Fred has also been around kids as young as 5 and handled it like a champ, but because of his shy nature, he would do best in a slightly calmer home with older kiddos who understand giving him a little space while he warms up. When he gets overwhelmed, he’ll simply remove himself or find a cozy place to hide and reset.
What makes Fred truly special isn’t just his adorable ears (though… they’re a big bonus). It’s his quiet sweetness, his gentle way of loving, and how meaningful it feels when he chooses you. He’s the kind of dog who may not be everyone’s dog right away… but for the right person, he’ll be everything.

We are willing to test Little Fred with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.
