Penny is a lovable, chocolate-colored Lab mix. After a rough start in life, she’s proving every day that she’s resilient, adaptable, and full of quiet joy. At home, Penny is calm and content—she loves her naps just as much as she loves a good backyard zoomie session or a walk. She’s affectionate without being demanding, happy to soak up attention whenever it’s offered (and especially loves her morning hugs!).
She’s social and playful with other dogs, thriving most with a canine companion to wrestle and chase. With people, she’s friendly and gentle—no jumping or mouthy behavior—but may take a few minutes to warm up, especially with kids. Once she does, you’ll be rewarded with her signature full-body tail wag and sweet, easygoing nature.
Penny walks nicely on a leash, is house-trained, crate-trained, and settles in beautifully to a routine. She’s food-motivated and already knows basic commands like “sit” and “come,” making her a great candidate for continued training.
Her ideal home is one with a fenced yard, a bit of structure, and plenty of love. She’d do best with another playful dog and a family who will include her in daily life while giving her the patience to keep building confidence. Penny is the kind of dog who meets you where you are—whether that’s a quiet evening on the couch or a playful afternoon outside.
