HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Has the biggest heart and absolutely loves to cuddle, give kisses, and be close to his people - Foster family says he loves being outdoors and going to doggy daycare to hang out with his dog friends - Already knows sit and come and appears to be fully potty trained (just remember any dog may take time to adjust to a new routine!)- Foster family says he sleeps through the night - Can get a little curious when left alone and may be tempted to explore areas he shouldn't, but foster family says he is very responsive and will stop when you ask him to - Will do great with a family who can give him the consistency, patience and structure he needs to continue building confidence - Lived with cats in a previous home - Came from a situation where they did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age. Because of this, they may struggle with new situations, may show uncertainty with novel everyday objects, may need help understanding leashes, and will need patience and structure with housetraining - Has done best with a "helper" dog when it comes to learning that people can be OK, and we recommend that they go to a home with another dog - Has lived with younger children previously but may do best in a more mature home as he settles into a new place All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed.
