Theo is a wonderful dog who was given up by his owners because they were unable to train him not to bark at strangers. They stated that he wasn’t “cuddly” and they never bonded with him. We have continually worked on this and he is a smart boy who learns quickly. Unfortunately, their frustrations with him may have resulted in inappropriate treatment. We are also working with him on his fearfulness. He was adopted initially at the age of 8 weeks and his owners had him for 4 years. Theo is a personal favorite of mine at the rescue and I think he’s very special. We really want to see him get a patient and understanding person or family. Theo is a great size for hiking and long walks. Is he the boy for you?


Theo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks.

Theo’s adoption fee is $300


This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest.
