Meet gordo

Hello! My name is Gordo!

I am a precious Lab mix born around 04/14/20! I'm about 58 pounds, neutered, up to date on my vaccines and preventatives. I'm currently being treated for heartworms on slow kill method which Artemis is funding because my previous owners did not take proper care of me. Artemis will continue to pay for my treatment, even if you adopt me so please don't let that affect your choice.

My foster mama says I'm incredibly sweet. I love snuggles, and I'm great with kids I get along with everyone, and I never bark, even when all the other dogs are going crazy! I'm also good on and off the leash!

After being picked up as a stray, living in the pound for weeks and now living in a loving foster home, I'm ready to meet my new family and finally get settled in my forever home.

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas.

We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI.

Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue.

Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.

MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION:

Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications.

The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport.

Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!
