Meet Betsy — A Golden Girl Ready to Be Your Queen Betsy is a senior dog looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her days soaking up sunshine, spending time with her people, and relaxing in all her favorite cozy spots. She came to us from a loving home that could no longer keep up with her needs as she’s gotten older. While Betsy certainly appreciates a comfy bed and a peaceful afternoon, don’t let her age fool you—this girl still has plenty of pep in her step! Betsy is a spry, active lady who enjoys a mile or two walk each day and often still has energy left for playtime afterward. She loves people and is currently in foster care, where she is receiving extra love and comfort while waiting for the right home. When she visits the shelter with her foster mom, Betsy is always wiggly, happy, and eager to greet every person who walks through the door. She does like children, though she can struggle with resource guarding at times, which is important to keep in mind when getting to know her.Betsy would do best in a home where she can be the only pet and truly rule her castle. A calm environment with an adopter who understands her quirks and can meet both her physical and emotional needs will help her feel safe and comfortable. Providing her with routine, daily walks, respect for her space, and plenty of cozy places to rest will allow her to thrive. Though she may be entering her golden years, Betsy still has plenty of adventures left to enjoy and love left to give. Because she is currently in foster care, interested adopters can ask a staff member to help schedule a meet and greet.
