You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Bo Bo is a year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix. He has a beautiful caramel colored coat with muted merle. His big eyes just look at you with fondness. He is around 55 lbs and on the leaner side. This is good for Bobo. Bo Bo is fostering at Camp Merricks because the shelter environment was very stressful for him. At Camp he is much happier and more relaxed. Bobo knows 'Sit', 'Down', 'Come' and will walk on a leash without too much trouble. He is crate trained and sleeps quietly in his crate overnight. Bo Bo has a good bit of energy to start and loves the zoomies. Once he has gotten that energy out, he finds a quiet place to stretch out and relax. Bobo does fine with other dogs of all sizes. He recently spent time at Belties in Nellysford where he ignored the roosters and the cows. He did not react to the other dogs there either. He was curious about the kittens there, but didn't bother them. Bo Bo seems to be a great brewery, restaurant, outing companion. If you have other dogs, we will have you do a meet and greet at Camp to make sure everything goes well. At two different events Bo Bo was well behaved with children while on leash. All dogs should ALWAYS be managed with children, no matter how well they do with them in singular events. We have discovered that Bo Bo will 'mirror' the energy around him. If he is in a play group with super excited dogs he gets very excited as well. We suspect Bo Bo was encouraged to play 'tug of war' when he was younger. When he gets really excited he will jump and try to grab his leash or other things in your hands. We are working with him on this behavior. Playing these games with dogs like Bo Bo encourages behaviors that are not ideal. We do not recommend roughhousing or tugging with Bo Bo. When he is with calmer dogs, he is also calm. He is very calm when on leash and given clear instructions for his behavior.Bobo is a typical young dog who needs a few boundaries and reinforcement of good manners.
