Strong legs, soft heart, and learning to trust again
I’m over 2 years old. I was found as a stray in California and ended up in a high-kill shelter, carrying more than just an injury.
I had a serious break in my front leg. Surgery, healing, the whole process. I did the work. I kept going. Now I’m back up, walking, playing, and getting stronger every day.
Some days, after a long walk or a good run, my front leg still gets a little tired. I’ll lift it for a bit, take a break, then I’m right back at it. I’m still healing, but I’m doing really well.
There’s more to my story.
It looks like I had puppies at some point, but they’re not with me. I don’t know what happened to them. I just know I ended up alone.
So I can be a little fearful at first. I don’t rush in. I need time to get used to you, to understand that I’m safe. But once I do, you’ll see who I really am.
I’m sweet. I stay close. I lean into you. I want to be part of your world.
I’ve got energy too. The good kind. I like to move, stretch my legs, chase a ball, feel the air around me. A yard would make me happy. So would someone who enjoys being outside and letting me be a dog.
I’m gentle with adults. Friendly with people once I know them. I enjoy having a dog friend to play with. I'd do best in an adult only home.
Cats are not for me. I think they’re part of a game, and I will chase.
I don’t need perfect. I need patience. I need kindness. I need someone who understands that trust takes a moment, but once it’s there, it’s real.
I’ve been through a lot. I’m still here. And I’m ready for something better.
