Crisco is the kind of dog who wears his heart right on his sleeve. From the moment he was found, he was seeking affection, handing out kisses, and making it very clear that people are his favorite thing. Outside the kennel, he has consistently shown himself to be loose, social, and affectionate, happily leaning into pets, sitting politely for treats, and circling back for more attention when people stop petting him. He also has a playful streak and enjoys chasing toys around before climbing right into your lap for cuddles. Crisco seems to genuinely enjoy being near people and being part of whatever is going on.

Like a lot of shelter dogs, Crisco has had moments where the kennel environment has been stressful and overwhelming for him, especially when it comes to prized goodies like bones. Once out of that environment, though, he relaxed quickly and showed appropriate behavior during handling and feeding evaluations. He allowed people to handle his food bowl without issue and remained affectionate and easygoing throughout. Crisco feels like a dog who is ready to settle into a real home where he no longer has to worry about competition, noise, or stress. Give him some consistency, a comfy couch, and a few toys to toss around, and you will probably end up with a loyal shadow who believes every day should include snacks, cuddles, and at least a little silliness.
