Meet Teko — Soft as Mink, Precious as GoldTeko`s story began on a stormy night when this sweet 5-year-old Chihuahua was found wandering alone in the pouring rain, soaking wet and without a soul looking for him. Nobody ever came to claim him — but we think that just means he was waiting to find the right family.At 20 pounds, Teko is a sturdy little guy with the most luxuriously soft, thick fur you`ve ever touched — honestly, it feels like petting a mink. He`s as handsome as he is lovable.Teko is fully housetrained and an all-around easy houseguest. He tends to be a little reserved when he first meets you, but don`t let that fool you — once he decides you`re his person, he becomes your devoted shadow, following you from room to room and soaking up every moment together. He`s independent enough to handle alone time without anxiety, though he makes no secret of how thrilled he is when his favorite people walk through the door.One of Teko`s most charming qualities is the way he communicates. He rarely barks, but he does talk — in the most endearing vocalizations. You`ll find yourself talking right back.He loves going for walks and is an absolute gentleman on leash — no pulling, no reacting to other dogs or squirrels, just a confident, calm companion enjoying the world beside you. He needs a regular outlet for his playful side, including some off-leash time for zoomies and play — a fenced yard is a bonus but not a requirement. In his foster home with big dogs, Teko holds his own beautifully, playing confidently with dogs many times his size. He is currently living with another Chihuahua and, while they occasionally compete for the spotlight (can you blame them?), he is usually gentle and kind with his smaller housemate.Teko is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and heartworm negative. He is not destructive and has no need to be crated, though he is perfectly comfortable in a pen when needed.
