Meet Spitfire, a stunning Dachshund mix whose inner beauty is just beginning to shine. A true "dog’s dog," Spitfire finds her courage through the companionship of others. She is looking for a patient home that already has at least one confident resident dog to help lead the way. Spitfire relies heavily on her canine siblings for support and social cues, and she would even be happy to share her space with a feline friend, as she coexists very well with cats.

While she is still learning to trust the human world, Spitfire is making wonderful strides in her foster home. She has shown great progress with her potty manners and has embraced her crate as a safe, comfortable space. Currently, she is a bit of a "wallflower," preferring to observe her foster family from a distance while she gets used to the rhythm of the household. Because she is skittish and startles easily, she would thrive best in a calm, predictable environment with adults or older children who understand the need for a low-pressure approach.

Potential adopters should know that Spitfire is a bit of an escape artist in the making! She is a talented climber and a determined digger, so a secure, escape-proof yard is a must for her outdoor adventures.
