Simone is a 3-year-old, 15-pound terrier mix with a difficult story. She was found locked in a crate and left on a neighbor’s porch, frightened, overwhelmed, and panicking with no one coming for her. When we learned what had happened, Shelter Hope brought her into our care to give her the safety and second chance she deserves.

Simone is a playful, clever, and very food-motivated dog with a bright, energetic personality. She loves to run, explore, and stay engaged with whatever’s going on around her. As she settles in, her affectionate side really comes through. She enjoys being close to people she trusts and is happiest when she feels included and part of the action. Simone also does well with other adult dogs, especially those who match her playful energy.

Due to her traumatic history, she can be fearful of new environments and being handled too quickly at first, and she may try to protect herself if she feels scared. Because of this, Simone would do best in an adult-only home without children, where she can feel secure and blossom at her own pace.

Now spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Simone is ready for a patient, loving home where she can continue to grow into the happy, confident dog she’s meant to be!

Shelter Hope is operating by appointment only. We are located at the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, CA.
