Meet Bootsie: The 9-Year-Old Queen Who Knows Exactly What She Wants

Bootsie is a sweet, loyal, and spirited 9-year-old who is looking for a quiet home where she can settle in and be someone's devoted companion. She is house trained, walks well on a leash, and loves nothing more than being close to her people, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or simply keeping an eye on you from across the room. She is a low-key dog with a big personality, and once she decides you're her person, she is yours.

A few things her adopter should know:

Bootsie has some sensitivity along her back and hindquarters, which makes being picked up uncomfortable for her. She does best when greeted at her level and given the opportunity to approach on her own terms. She is not a dog who will tolerate being handled in ways that cause her discomfort, so we are looking for an adopter who will respect her boundaries and work with her rather than around them. The good news: she is highly food motivated, which makes building trust and a routine with her very manageable.

She has a small lump on her shoulder that has been examined and confirmed benign by a veterinarian. No treatment needed.

Bootsie gets along well with calm, respectful dogs. She is not a good match for highly energetic or confrontational dogs.

She is best suited for an adult-only home with a fenced yard.

Apply at www.rescue330.org — if you think you’re worthy. Bootsie's adoption fee is $150. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped, and current on heartworm & flea prevention.
