Meet Our Birmingham 6 🐾💛"SJay" was born diluted brindle, but his stripes faded out, and now he is a very nice cream color. He thinks he is the boss, but is reminded daily by the others that he is not. He loves to play with our staffador. He is tough and rowdy, but well-behaved when told to be. These six sweet puppies didn’t exactly get the easy start every dog deserves—but thanks to some kind humans, their story is already turning around.Their mama was found in Birmingham, Alabama, doing her best to survive while pregnant. Life hadn’t been kind to her, but she stayed gentle and trusting. She was taken in just in time, where she safely gave birth to her six babies in a warm, caring environment—no more worrying about where her next meal would come from or how she’d protect her pups.From day one, these puppies have been safe, handled, and loved—and it shows. We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicableATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for your benefit and your puppy's, so if you experience behavioral issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
