My name is Lukaā¦ and Iām still trying to understand how I ended up alone in a park.
One day, I had a family. The next, I didnāt.
I was scared, confused, and waiting for someone who never came back.
When I was brought to the shelter, everything felt loud and overwhelming. I didnāt know who to trust. But somehow, the volunteers saw something in me. They gave me gentle words, soft pets, and hope when I didnāt have any left. They fought for meā¦ and they saved my life.
Now Iām in a foster home, and for the first time in a long time, I feel safe. Iāve learned what it means to relax, to play, to love again.
And I have so much love to give.
Iām just a babyāabout 10 months old, an American Bully, around 50 lbsāwith a heart that still believes in people.
Iāll follow you from room to room just to be close.
Iāll rest my head on you when youāve had a long day.
Iāll greet you like youāre the best thing in the worldā¦ every single time.
Because to me, you would be.
