Meet maxwell (max)
Maxwell (“Max”) is a male, neutered German Shepherd/Husky mix weighing approximately 85 pounds.
He has been a devoted companion and protective support animal for his previous owner. Over the last three to four years, his owner lived in various homeless shelters and was repeatedly mistreated and abused by others. During this time, Max learned to become extremely protective in order to keep his owner safe.
Max is deeply loyal and bonds strongly with his person. Because of the years spent in unstable and dangerous environments, he is cautious with strangers and does not easily trust new people or other dogs. His protectiveness comes from trauma and constant vigilance while defending his owner from harm.
Despite this history, Max has the foundation of a very good dog—he is intelligent, alert, and dedicated. With the right environment, stability, and experienced handling, he has strong potential to adjust and thrive.
