Meet baxter
Baxter was adopted in North Carolina and we were told he was positive for heartworm. The non profit that was supposed to cover his treatment ghosted us and we had to pay out of pocket. He is finishing his last round of prednisone as of 5/13/26 and in a few weeks will get blood drawn to confirm his negative status. We were also told he was raised with a cat so he was good with them. This turned out to be untrue as he attempts to chase my cats constantly, and yesterday he slipped out of my hold and jumped on my cat repeatedly. I only see his behavior escalating. He is a great dog when it’s just him and I. Super snuggly, listens to commands well, goes in the kennel without any resistance, etc. Unfortunately I just do not have the money to get him properly trained after spending over $1,000 on his treatment. If he can go into a household without any small children or other pets I think that would be the best for him! Please give this sweetheart a chance!
